GWT Developer

We are currently seeking a candidate to fill a Java development position who has solid knowledge using the Google Web Toolkit technology. Experience with J2EE application server is a must. The key to this position is to have solid integrated experience on both the front and back-end. The candidate must understand standards, security, tools and solutions.

The ideal candidate must have strong organizational, communication and analytical skills as well as a thorough understanding of software development. The candidate must be able to effectively prioritize and organize a variety of assignments and objectives as well as work independently within a team environment.

Duties will include

• Responsible for coding for portal web sites with Java, GWT, XML, XSL, EJB, JSP, Servlets, HTML, JavaScript, and other J2EE technologies.
• Assist in testing new features / modules by developing test cases based on user specifications
• Assist in the design of new features / modules which may involve:
  • Assessing technical feasibility of product proposals
  • Security / risk implications of product proposals
  • Recommend and comparatively evaluate architectural approaches for implementation
  • Produce ER designs, class diagrams etc.
• Provide input into the project timelines, implementation and rollout strategies
• Participate in making technical suggestions, illustrations or technical pre-designs as per requests from the marketing department

Qualifications

• Computer Science / Math related university / college degree or higher
• Minimum 2 years experience with Java-based development is a must
• Minimum 1 years experience with J2EE-based development is a must
• A solid understanding of GWT is a must
• Demonstrate an understanding of J2EE environment
• Demonstrate experience with Java, XML, XSL, EJB, JSP, Servlets, HTML, JavaScript
• Demonstrate experience with developing comprehensive procedures to accomplish complex tasks that may be followed by others with little or no knowledge of the tasks or goals
• Demonstrate understanding of Web services is preferred
• Strong communication skills
• Bilingual (French and English) is an asset.
