Michael J. de Waal
President and Founder
With over 20 years of experience in the insurance and financial services industry, Michael leads the Global IQX team with his dynamic leadership and vision.
Michael's background includes a unique combination of software development experience and business management skills. Early in his career, he worked as a computer programmer for the federal government. He then went on to become a financial planner and a benefits consultant, and spent several years working with insurance giant Manulife Financial. Michael's entrepreneurial spirit is apparent in his track record of starting or helping to launch three successful companies: Capital Financial Planners, MD Benefits and Global IQX Inc.
Michael attended Carleton University and Algonquin College in Ottawa, Ontario and St. Lawrence College in Cornwall, Ontario. In 2002 he was recognized with the "Forty under Forty Award" for professionalism, community involvement and leadership. Michael who is an accredited sommelier, enjoys playing polo, soccer and skiing with his family.
Sally Boucher
Vice President, Finance
Sally is a Certified General Accountant with over 18 years of varied financial, operational and business development experience. Sally is responsible for all financial management and reporting as well as relationships with the financial community.
Her previous roles included Controller, VP Finance, and CFO for several software and other high technology businesses. She is a member of the Board of Governors of CGA Ontario where she has played an active role in promoting professional standards. Sally is well known for her professionalism, commitment to excellence, and plays an active role in community affairs.
Yufeng Chen
Chief Systems Architect and Director, Technology
Yufeng brings 15 years of software design and programming knowledge to Global IQX, with a mandate to architect our information technology services, facilities and capabilities. Yufeng has extensive experience in the technology industry holding several certificates from both Microsoft and Sun Microsystems.
Prior to joining Global IQX in 2001, Yufeng held various senior positions working for Microsoft Certified Technical and Educational Centre of Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. He was Chief Software Engineer as well as Senior Java Developer. He has also worked as a Microsoft Certified Trainer. Yufeng holds a PhD (1996) from State Key Lab of Resources and Environment Information Systems (LREIS) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Beijing, China.
Yufeng, with his family, enjoys jogging, swimming and skating in his spare time.
David Miller
Vice-President Business Development and Services
Based in Roanoke, Virginia, Dave has more than 15 years of experience in marketing insurance software solutions to Fortune 500 organizations including leadership positions at InSystems and E-Z Data. Throughout his career in sales management and as an industry solution expert, Dave has proven to be an innovative, results-oriented senior executive with a highly successful record of growth.
Dave is responsible for business development including strategic alliances, sales support, and services. He holds a MBA and a B.S in Finance and Insurance.
Fran Simpson
HR and Administration
Fran's mandate focuses on human resources and administration. Her primary goal is to attract, retain and develop meaningful careers for Global IQX's top talent. Her team delivers programs and policies designed to advance Global IQX strategic goals; training, compensation and benefits, staffing, employee relations.
Fran has a Commerce degree from Carleton University and has over 15 years of experience in technology, employee benefits and banking industries.
Mohammad Zebian
Director of Implementation and Product Management
Mohammad has held a number of leadership positions over the last 10 years in the software industry. He brings to us diverse experience in Project Management, Account Management, Strategic Planning, and Research and Development. He is responsible for product development and implementation.
Mohammad's mandate is to provide superior customer service through the delivery of business solutions that exceed client expectations on quality, cost and schedule, thereby providing significant value to our clients.
Mohammad holds a MBA from the University of Ottawa, focused on Strategic Management and its application in a global business environment. He spends as much time as possible with his family.
