Manulife Financial's benefits products now available on Global IQX's Web-based quoting service

Global IQX expands offerings to insurance brokers on its ConnectInsure Web site

Ottawa, Ontario and Waterloo, Ontario — November 7, 2001
Global IQX, developer of the ConnectInsure Web-based quoting service that enables insurance companies to conduct online quotations and enrollment transactions, announced today that Manulife Financial's small business group benefits products are now available to insurance brokers at www.connectinsure.com.

This marks the implementation of a July 2001 agreement between Global IQX and Manulife Financial to provide brokers and agents with online, real-time group insurance quotes.

Currently, more than 900 licensed insurance brokers and consultants in Canada are registered with ConnectInsure, a Web-based application powered by the IQX Platform. Available free of charge to licensed insurance brokers, ConnectInsure provides plan advisors, brokers and other certified benefit planners access to an instant quoting service online. Traditionally, benefit advisors and brokers have needed four to six weeks to gather the detailed information for a client quote and presentation. ConnectInsure delivers all the same information in a few minutes.

In addition to its partnership with Manulife Financial, Global IQX has also formed partnerships with the Clarica Life Insurance Company, Green Shield Canada and Imperial Life Insurance, a subsidiary of the Desjardins-Laurentian Financial Corporation.
