Global IQX teams with Ceridian to enhance ConnectInsure insurance portal
Partnership to add new EAP/work-life services to www.connectinsure.com

Global IQX Inc., developer of the ConnectInsure insurance portal that enables insurance professionals to conduct online quotations and enrollment transactions, today announced a key partnership with Ceridian Canada Ltd.
According to the terms of the agreement, Ceridian will distribute LifeWorks® OneSource, its comprehensive employee assistance program (EAP) and work-life solution, through the ConnectInsure insurance portal.
“Ceridian is a leader in the creation and management of integrated solutions to the workplace market and we’re excited to have them aboard ConnectInsure,” said Michael de Waal, president and founder of Global IQX. “LifeWorks OneSource adds an entirely new element to the group benefits products currently available on the ConnectInsure site.
“It’s a new product to add to the broker’s portfolio which will, in turn, boost their value to the client.”
LifeWorks OneSource will be the first EAP/work-life service made available through the ConnectInsure site, which offers a range of life and health insurance products for small groups and individuals. A full-service, bilingual employee resource program, LifeWorks OneSource provides confidential counselling and work-life information services that assist employees and their immediate families to overcome their personal and professional issues. Employees enrolled with LifeWorks OneSource also have access to LifeWorks® Online, an Internet gateway to the widest range of work-life information and resources for employees.

In a recent study, prominent researchers found that employees are highly motivated to use online, integrated EAP and work-life services to obtain immediate access to information about various personal and professional issues. The University of Maryland at Baltimore School of Social Work (UMD), one of the nation’s largest graduate social work programs and the largest centre of EAP study, conducted the groundbreaking research in 2001. The study concluded that delivering these services online is a viable way to provide help and support to employees.
Used by more than 1,600 licensed insurance professionals across the country, ConnectInsure is a Web-based application powered by the IQX Platform. Available free of charge, ConnectInsure offers plan advisors, brokers and other certified benefit planners access to an instant, online quoting service. Using traditional channels, it can take up to six weeks to gather the detailed information for a client quote and presentation. ConnectInsure delivers all the same information in a few minutes.
